Bulldozing roads to nowhere on the banks of the Limpopo River

A depressing scene… Clearance of the indigenous vegetation and road construction proceed unchecked at the 3,500 Ha North Site of the MMSEZ at Antonvilla farm located on the banks of the Limpopo River, adjacent to the Musina Baobab Nature Reserve - despite the fact that the site has never been designated as a Special Economic Zone and the gross irregularities connected to environmental authorisation for the development.

Construction commenced earlier this year, as reported by SABC on 22 February 2023, was subsequently halted due to apparent irregularities with the required permits, but has since resumed. Tshiamiso Trading, the tenderpreneur awarded the R200 million contract to bulldoze roads to nowhere, appears to have a record of tender fraud in Limpopo Province, evidenced by a High Court Judgement against the company in connection with a road construction contract for Greater Tzaneen LM.
